Meet Majid: Born & Raised at ForeverSpring Farm
Born, raised, and sales prepped at ForeverSpring Farm; this 3-year-old won the Easy Goer Stakes and the $145,500 purse on June 8, 2019. This was his fourth consecutive win.
Trained by Rudy Rodriguez, Majid carried Zayat Stables jockey, Luis Saez, across the finish line a length ahead of the next contender for the win.
Majid, which means “glorious” and “magnificent,” was sired by Shackleford and the mare Jessamine (sired by Mineshaft) and was born on St. Patrick’s Day. He was sold in utero for $20,000 and commanded $210,000 as a yearling in September of 2017. Zayat Stables purchased him for $295,000 as a 2-year-old in 2018.
Majid is the 7th Stakes winner for Shackleford.
“We are proud to have been involved in the early development of such a fine equine athlete,” said ForeverSpring Farm owner, Dr. David Williams, “We look forward to watching him progress through his next races.”
Rodriguez plans to take Majid to Sarasota to continue his training.
